Brief

The Status Quo

90% of world’s data has been created in the last 12 months and distraction is one of the biggest productivity destroyers during worktime. Employees are wasting on average 65 minutes reading news websites. Checking social media is in 2nd place.

The Potential

150 is the median number of people whom most individuals keep a social relationship of some form. 82% desire a solution to better manage their social accounts. 70% of users fear they are missing out on key events & updates. 78% of users check social networks daily.

My Role

As the Head of Product, I took responsibility in designing the whole project from A-Z. To ensure the highest quality possible, the best user experience which works seamlessly on different screen sizes, and same design language on every platform. In addition, I also designed and developed the webpage.

Design Kick-Off

After the design kick-off meeting, we started with the question: how can the service stand out in the sea of B2C social media apps? The main design challenge was keeping the user interface simple while adding more channels and feeds. Many brainstorming sessions later, we came up with the first wireframe and a customer journey map:

The Product

Bynd is a productivity tool, which bundles all your favorite feeds into one central hub. Channels included: Twitter, Medium, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Designer News, Trending Topics from Reddit and Product Hunt, and up to 70 of the most popular News channels such as BBC, New York Times or The Washington Post.
